In Egypt LNG has substantial development, remarkable projects at Damietta with a plant comprises gas processing and liquefaction units, utilities, off sites, LNG storage and export facilities The first LNG train is designed to process 7.56 billion cubic meters annually of natural gas to produce 4.8 million tone of LNG per year. The site can accommodate more LNG trains, which would utilize some common facilities with train 1 e.g. Jetty & LNG storage tanks.

An LNG liquefaction plant located at idku 50 kilometers east of Alexandria, adjacent to the Rosetta and Scarab/Saffron gas processing terminals. Together these facilities would form a major new Egyptian gas hub -The Idku Hub- with its own port facilities.

At the same time two liquefied natural gas trains are being constructed now in Idku for the Egyptian LNG Project with an annual capacity of 10 BCF and total investment of $1.7 billion for exporting the liquefied natural gas to France, Italy and the USA.

LNG with a huge reserve of natural gas in Egypt is set to take an increasing role with the country tipped to become sixth largest LNG producer and exporter by 2014, which forced major companies to put more power in exploring LNG that made them more involved in tenders to explore and drill in Egypt.

Seabird as registered in EGPC has the right to represent foreign companies. Parties involved in LNG business as according to Egyptian law all foreign companies must have either local agents (representatives) or local partners (joint companies) to operate.
